What excites you about working at Friendbuy?
The development team is small so each member has a big impact. A feature can go from specification to coding to QA to being deployed in just a few weeks. The other developers are smart and kind, and I enjoy working with them.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I’m interested in typeface design. A font is both a practical object and a work of art. A glyph may be beautiful or ugly, but if it unrecognizable it has failed (or has it?). Typeface designers cheat: strokes must be squished so that they look round, or thickened or thinned so that they look equal. I hope to be good enough to produce a typeface worth looking at someday.

There are lots of opportunities to learn and grow your skillsets. There is wide variety in the projects we work on, so it never feels stale. We use new technologies and are always looking for new ideas to incorporate into our product. What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to do a lot of gaming (video games, board games, and tabletop games), watch sci-fi, and take care of/play with our pets. I enjoy interacting with animals and sometimes help out with cat rescue groups.
